Peculiar Things...

I mentioned the cold I am just getting over in the last post. So, I thought it best to go get some Cold-Eze. Those are like cough drops, but more along the zinc lozenges line. The idea is to aid speedy recovery. I popped the first one in on the way home and quickly remembered my aversion to them. I don't like the dry feeling they give your mouth (I think it's the zinc). That led to the thought, "how peculiar am I? I really have a dislike for the particular way zinc makes my mouth feel, even though I know it helps me." So, we'll call that Peculiar Thing #1: I do not like the taste of zinc lozenges.

Immediately my mind jumped to Peculiar Thing #2: I do not like lotions or creams on my skin. Whether it be moisturizing lotion, sunscreen, or anything similar, I just can't stand that feeling of something on my skin. This usually crops up as an apparent issue to others when I refuse their polite offer of sunscreen while out in the sun. Even if I end up getting sunburn, the thought of having to put lotion or even aloe on my skin seems worse than the agonizing burn.

Speaking of the beach, Peculiar Thing #3: I don't like the feeling of salt and sand on my skin after going to the beach. That usually keeps me off the beach altogether.

Peculiar Thing #4: I don't like soggy breads. This one might not sound so peculiar at first, but read on. I don't like when you get a sub or sandwich from a shop and the juices from the meat have made the bread completely soggy. I don't like syrup poured over my pancakes or french toast, because it makes the bread soggy. I prefer the dip method. Guarantees the bread has syrup on it without being mushy. If you heard this one from Judy, she might refer to it by my 'spoon under one side of my plate to prop it up and keep the syrup from touching my pancakes.' She's always enjoyed telling that story.
